The Fungi World (283) : Girdled Webcap

Girdled Webcap is a rather rare fungus species but a beautiful one, at least to my taste.

It likes to grow in boggy broadleaf woodland, particularly under poplars, willows and birches.

Dutch name : Gegordelde gordijnzwam
German name : Natternstieliger Schleimfuss
Latin name : Cortinarius trivialis

i love the tender mood of this one! the two little fungi close to each other, looking all soft and vulnerable, caressed by a lovely, forgiving light… speaking with rilke's "herbstag", these two here are lucky because they won't have to go through atumn alone! ; ) the soft shimmer of their caps – very beautiful indeed! greetings, sabine. p.s.: i'm glad that it's not what i thought it was, when spotting the thumb… ; ))
