The Living Forest (137) : Robin

I guess everybody knows this beautiful and photogenic little fellow. It’s my favorite bird !

Did you know that a robin is one of the only birds that can be heard singing in the forest in winter.
This is because it holds very strong to its territory all year round and defends it even to the death.

Unfortunately, cold winters seriously affect the robin population.

Dutch name : Roodborstje
German name : Rotkehlchen
Latin name : Erithacus rubecula

Eine erstklassige Aufnahme!! In diesem Licht sind
die Farben des Rotkehlchens so schön und natür-
lich, wie man es nicht oft sieht. Schnitt, Schärfe
und die Perspektive sowie die natürliche Umge-
bung runden das Ganze ab.

Der kleine Sänger fängt schon vor Sonnenaufgang an zu singen und ist am ehesten in der Dämmerung zu vernehmen...
