The Living Forest (302) : Hazel catkins
Good news !!
Despite snow and ice, I spotted already the first hazel catkins in the forest !
The hazel is usually the earliest deciduous tree to wake up in nature and this happened this year too.
Spring beckons…….
Dutch name : Hazelaar
German name : Gemeine Hasel
Latin name : Corylus avellana
