The Living Forest (731) : Redwing

The redwing is a migratory songbird with a striking reddish brown flank that breeds in the most northern regions of Europe (Iceland, Scandinavia and Russia).

Redwings living in the east of Russia migrate about 7000 km to reach their wintering grounds in western and central Europe.

German name : Rotdrossel
Latin name : Turdus iliacus

I've never seen such a redwing in my local environment, even though we are are living in a rural area. Therefore it's a very special meeting with this beautiful pattern bird to me!
