The Middle Ages (98) : Spoon kid

This series is an attempt to illustrate how life was going on in the Middle Ages.

Kids could only play with simple utensils (like a wooden spoon) in an era without any toys.

In those medieval times, childhood was insignificant.
Children dependent on their parents until they were about 7 years old, thereafter their youth was past.

The practice of a youthful marriage was very common and many girls were already married at the age of…..14 years !

beautiful! an image that's telling a story! i'm seeing a child using her imagination to dream about a career as a musician: a little abracadabra, and in her mind the spoon turns into a magical flute! ; ) greetings, sabine. p.s.: love her dreamy, somewhat introverted expression, and how her blue eyes are picked up by the background, or vice versa!

Yes the description you've done, it's just, unfortunately, his childhood in the Middle Ages there was, thankfully the baby is only the subject of your photo series and never know the sad existence of her peers in the Middle Ages.
