What a nice colourful Sikh-family. Sikhism is a religion found in India by Guru Nanak in 14th century. They believe in one God and dont accept the cast system. In the Sikh Temple the Gurudwara everybody is welcome. They arrange free food for every visitor and everybody sits together and eat together,- something that would be impossible among Hindus. ) One can recognise Sikh men at their beautiful wrapped turban. Children do not wear them. Here it is just a yoke. Sikhs do not cut their hair and are obliged to carry a comb, a sold - which is minimised to 1 cm in these days, a steel bangle and a special very wide underwear,- so that they sit decently in the temple where there are also the ladies. I know all about the Sikh religion as I stayed with them in India.

  thank you, dear Brigitte ... Vancouver has several Sikh temples .... I have indeed had free meals with visitors there - they are very hospitable , it was a wonderful experience !!! You must have great memories staying such an
  amount of time with them in India !!!
