Winter Pond in Uffing

This small river pond with a weir is situated in the middle of Uffing. The winter light made the colours and contrasts particularly attractive on that late December day.

St. Agatha’s church is in the background. Parts of this building date back to 1480, although there may have been a church of some kind here since the 9th century. By the way, Adri mentioned the tower which is very typical for the southern parts of Bavaria, called an “onion tower” (Zwiebelturm) or “Welsh Bonnet” (welsche Haube) – “Welsch” meaning foreign or strange and not from the country of Wales:-)

Uffing am Staffelsee, Upper Bavaria, Germany / Oberbayern, Deutschland. Nikon D200, Sigma 18-200mm. Postpro in CS4.

Available as a card or print, or in my Calendar "Werdenfels Lakes & Ponds, Bavaria" from Redbubble: http://kasia-d.redbubble.com/

It´s great to see a new picture from you. You´re right, the light and colours are very attractive. And the scene with the nice refelctions is good captured. Well done, Kathryn.
