Blackbird
A male blackbird is one of our best song birds.
They are among the first birds to sing at dawn and the last to finish at dusk in the period from march to june.
Many consider the blackbird’s song even more beautiful than that of the nightingale…….!
My shot shows a female blackbird when seeking for earthworms now that they are still available, because soon the earthworms will go in hibernation.
Something interesting to know : a blackbird has an average life expectancy of 2,4 years. Based on data from bird ringing, the oldest recorded age is 21 years and 10 months !
