Castle ruins Franchimont (Belgium)

This is part of the ruins of a castle built in the 11th century as a stronghold on a rock in the Belgian Ardennes at Franchimont.

The original building was extended several times during the Middle Ages, once after a fire in 1387.

During the subsequent centuries the castle was often besieged and came more and more into disrepair.
Unfortunately, the castle was never rebuilt.

You should be so honest (for example in the tags), to mention that this is digiart ( a result of Photoshop & Co.) and that the picture of the castle is obviously taken as a day-light-shot! But, nevertheless, the work is well-done! With a little bit phantasy it could be so with the night-sky, indeed!,.-))

Die Ruinen des Schlosses zeigst du in einer ganz besonderen Stimmung,der Mond über der Szenerie ist natürlich das I-Tüpfelchen.

Wie wunderbar die Ruine bei diesem Licht aussieht - die Steine leuchten in einem schr schönen Terracotta-Ton!!! Zu warst zu einem sehr guten Zeitpunkt dort! Der Himmel zeigt herrliche Farben - eine so feine, gelungene Aufnahme! LG! a.
