Felgueiras Lighthouse - I I

The Farolim de Felgueiras, on the right bank of the River Douro, is a Portuguese lighthouse located at the tip of the pier with the same name, in the parish of Foz do Douro, City of Porto.
It is a hexagonal tower in granite masonry, about ten meters high. It has a balcony and a red lantern, and a small annex building with plastered walls painted white.
The name “Molhe de Felgueiras” was given to it because it was built towards the stone of Felgueiras, which borders it to the west.
Prior to its deactivation, the lighthouse had a range of 9 nautical miles, emitting a red lightning bolt every 5 seconds.
History
1790 – start of construction work on the jetty; on February 15th, Reinaldo Oudinot, by royal charter, was in charge of directing the work related to the opening of the Porto bar, from the mouth of the river to the city.
1886 – Construction of the lighthouse.
1945 – Modernization works on the Felgueiras Lighthouse, thus making the Senhora da Luz lighthouse unnecessary.
1979 – Automation of the Felgueiras lighthouse at the entrance to the Douro bar and the lighthouses at the port of Leixões (Quebra-mar, North Molhe and Sul Molhe) were started. These lights are now controlled remotely from the Leça da Palmeira Lighthouse, using equipment designed for that purpose. It was the first network of remote-controlled beacons on the Portuguese coast.
90s – conservation works.
2009 – Disabled, keeping the beep in operation.

Danke für Deinen Besuch, Antonio. Das Leuchtfeuer finde ich fantastisch. Ich mag Leuchttürme sehr. Sie haben etwas Geheimnisvolles.

Ein sehr gutes Fotomotiv und gelungen auch der Bildaufbau, dazu herrlich die Farben.
Für mein Empfinden kippt der Leuchtturm etwas nach rechts .....

Klasse Motiv. Mit dem Rasen und dem Feld vermutet man nicht auf den ersten Blick die Nähe zum Meer.. ein feiner Überraschungseffekt.
