Hummingbird Moth

White-Lined Sphinx
Also know as the Hummingbird Moth

While I was setting up for the hummingbird shots this moth stopped by to check out our menu. He didn't stay long as we didn't have a lot of flowers left that they feed on. I was able to get this one decent shot in. He was on the fly so it's a bit soft focus wise.

an eye-opening image for me, howard, as i had never heard of this kind of moth before, let alone seen one! it does look a lot like a hummingbird and seems to move like one, too! i just googled it and found out that apparently it even makes a humming sound, too! congratulations on capturing this fascinating and surprisingly colorful moth – soft focus or not… greetings, sabine.

thes are strange bugs. Just wear shorts on a summr day in your car at night. When they buzz your legs that's about it. EJECT out the car running. :)))))
