a day where we remember the fallen soldiers of so many unnecessary wars ...
however, this is not a wartime memorial, but the cemetery in Werl, Westphalia where soldiers and also wives and children are buried far away from their homeland Canada ... they where a part of the Armed Forces who were stationed in Germany after the war as were soldiers from other nations...

Un rappel nécessaire de l'Histoire pour les générations actuelles qui ont juste entendu parler (ou non...) de cette guerre de 14-18. Tes mots et ce cimetière canadien en Allemagne rappellent des faits qu'il ne faut jamais oublier, des morts sacrifiés à la paix...actuellement remise en cause en Europe avec la guerre russo-ukrainienne. Oui Adèle, ne pas oublier cet instant où des hommes sont morts pour satisfaire l'égo de quelques dirigeants.Mon père a fait cette guerre. Il en parlait rarement, mais lorsqu'il voulait échanger avec nous, quelques souvenirs de cet épisode, ses yeux brillaient....
