Dubai is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the capital of the Emirate of Dubai and for long is considered as the architects paradise. They are completewly free to exert their most prolific and "groundbreaking" design projects not mentioning-of course- the very handsome fees they are awarded with on completion. The aim is to promote ,in any away possible,the country's model and interests as a prominent participant in all western world luxuries and commodities and not only as a lucky oil-producer partner as oil production contributes less than 1% of the Emirates GDP.
Dubai has the largest number of 5 star hotels in the world.

In the photo is the famous Sheikh Zayed Mosque built between 1990-2007 by the Syrian architect Yusef Abdelki. Although it belongs to Abu Dabhi it is considered as an architectural emblem for all the emirates.
