Arctic Refuge
The Arctic Refuge, located in northeastern Alaska, is well known for its miles of pipelines that transport oil. Aside from this fact, the Refuge is a truly spectacular place. Large mountains, vast coastal plains and a multitude of wildlife, large herds of caribou, grizzly bears, musk oxen, polar bears, moose, wolves and many other species are permanent residents of this place. You quickly become aware that this place deserves permanent protection.
