On the farm (8) : Red Ardenner turkey

The Red Ardenner turkey is the result of a crossbreed between a black turkey and a wild Mexican turkey in the 16th century.
Nowadays, this animal is on the edge of extinction as only a handful of people is maintaining the breed.

The shot shows a female specimen, but with her large featherless head full of fleshy warty growths and her throat full of red wattles, she is not directly 'the most beautiful girl'…..:-))

Zuerst denkt man "die arme Kreatur", wenn man länger hinschaut findet man aber auch das eine oder andere hübsche Detail an dieser Dame.

Du hast jedenfalls Dein Bestes gegeben und ein wunderschönes Portrait aufgenommen.

Meine Erfahrungen mit diesen "Kerlen"sind nicht die besten,können sie doch äußerst agressiv werden:-)
Dennoch ist dir ein super Portrait gelungen.
