    This is an excellent view through this hollow towards the sunshine lighted trees. The wet road and the puddle are very important for this composition!!! regards Bert

    Beautiful and interesting reportage. I love the beauty of nature that is wide and picturesque, but made "sweet" by the work of man.

      I suppose you are right.
      Winding rivers and winding roads.
      In winter, up here in the North - the light is thin, and the mood is sad -
      but things can be beautiful,  even so.
      The bridge - which you can see in a couple of these photographs - (and the road along the valley) was built in 1908 by a local landowner - who lived several miles up the valley - so that his family and guests could more easily travel in and out of the valley from the nearest railway station.
